I chose to read this book because of book club. The book club at our school has this big sign boasting about they read this book and how good it was. Then when I found out it was on our list and saw all the high recommendations for it I wanted to read it. The book also had interesting topics like family drama, and depression. Also when I read the review I was hooked. I have high expectations for this book. I hope by the end I'm raving to everyone about how good it was. I expect it to be an extremely challenging read. I also looked up the author- Jodi Picoult. She is an American writer and is 49 years old. She was awarded the New England Bookseller Award for fiction in 2003. Picoult grew up in Nesconset on Long Island, New York. Something interesting about her were her topics in her books. "Picoult's novels tend to center on human emotion, complex human relationships and pose moral dilemmas. Most of her books involve a criminal or civil case which last the duration of the book. In books that do not follow this pattern, an attorney character is still often present."This book is 418 pages. I want to read for 5 weeks. 100 pages for the first week and 68 for the fourth. I wish myself good luck!!!
::::: Mr. Harvey ::::: Mr Harvey was Susie's Salmon's murderer. He raped her. Tear.
What Others Say... "My murderer believed in old fashioned things like eggshells and coffee grounds, which he said his own mother had used." In my opinion that is strange to others it might not be.
What Character Say... "It's after dark Susie." This makes him even more strange because he didn't or wasn't suppose to know it. He was just a neighbor, that no body Really talked except on his gardening.
What Character Does... "In his car he played a radio station that looped Christmas carols during the month of December. He whistled inside his huge station wagon..." This man is either pure evil or a skitzophranic. He's loco! Who can sing after they just killed someone.
Others Reactions "... about how weird the neighborhood thought Mr. Harvey was with no regular job and no kids." If that doesn't scream at least SUSPECT these people are blind.
I like this book its extremely mysterious even though I already know who did it.
