Candy. She is the center of Joe's world, the light of his life, the climax of his story. It seem as if nothing mattered before she came along. Her pale skin, bright hair, and thin frame intriges him. Also the fact that she even notices him helped alot. I thought that she would of helped his pathetic attempt at a self-esteem. However Candy isn't good. She's a prostitute and a heroine addict.
Heroin is an extremely dangerous and addictive drug. It scares me that someone so young can be so confused.
Oh yeah and her pimp doesn't like Joe. This girl is an extremely bad influece but I can't stop reading about her. I'm addicted to Candy.

hey ama,quite similarly, i agreE! i think your post makes a lot of sense! I don't think Candy is all that great for Joe because he is innocent and a kid from the Suburban area of England and she's a prostitute who lives in London.I'm reading Candy too, as you know, and I love it but Joe is after a dangerous girl and could really get into trouble or possibly get killed. He really IS addicted to Candy and not just the eating kind ..if you know what i mean ;)
well it's a really good read but in my point of view, Joe is a bit too obsessed with Candy.

Anyway...Candy seems like the kind of person no one would really hang around with. And I don't see why a person like Joe would like a girl like Candy. It's interesitng how you're addicted to Candy but you just dont like her as a person. I guess it's interesting to see life from the eyes of a prostitute and heroine addict.
