"Inside the snow globe on my fathers desk, there was a penguin wearing a red-and-white striped scaref. When I was little my father would pull me into his lap and reach for the snow globe. He would turn it over, letting all the snow collect on the top, then quickly invert it. The two of us watched the snow gently around the penguin. The penguin was alone in ther, I thought, and I worried for him. When I told my father this, he said, "Dont worry, Susie: he has a nice life. He's trapped in a perfect world."

I think the penguin was suppose to be her. Everything was so perfect as a child but she knew that something could always go wrong and that's what scared her. Do you agree?

I understand your symbolism thing because being trapped in your snow globe means you'll only see everything that within those boundaries. Everything else is basically unknown and undiscovered until you step out and you see everthing in a new perspective.
haha. cute! i like ur symbolism!
If you're trapped in a perfect world, nothing acan harm you and nothing can do anything to you. i think that when she had a feeling that something could always go wrong that could also happen to the snow globe. If the snow globe fell and cracked, then the poor penguin would spill out and be eaten by a cat or chewed up by a dog :D
~the end.
